The Beach Shed

This space was originally intended to be a pottery shed - it transformed into a seaside retreat.

Size, height and style were among the design limitations. Further consideration was given to combining elements of the beach side setting and the existing structure.

Locally Native Western Red Cedar patterned to mirror the mountains in view. The rocky beach inspired the floor.

  1. Wow! Beautiful, beautiful work. I so want you to design my cabin when I'm ready to retire in about 15.

  2. Actually, it is better as a beach shed rather than a pottery shed. The structure is compact, and it is best for friends who love to stay in a small space. But I think renovation would make it much better. Make it a little higher, so that there would be better air circulation.

  3. Unfortunately the height restriction prevented any additional height. The owner is an artist and the shed allows her to work in a beautiful setting in all types of weather.
